Yay for Mondays!!

Hello pre-cal friends, Charlene here.

In today's class we learned how to graph rational functions along with horizontal and vertical asymptotes.
NOTE:
Vertical asymptotes are vertical lines which correspond to
the zero's of the denominator of a rational fun
ction
Horizontal asymptotes are horizont
al lines the graph approaces

We learned how to graph rational functions with 3 different kinds of equations.
Remember.. x=h and y=k

a)

b)

c)

Here are examples of each function:
(Sorry guys Im not sure how to graph on here! Just check out the wiki ;) But here are the table of values..)

a)

x=0
y=0

x: -3, -2, -1, -0.5
y: -0.333, -0.5, -1, -2

x: 3,2,1,0.5
y: 0.333, 0.5, 1,2

b)

x= 2
y=0

x: 1,1.5,0
y: -1, -2, -0.5

x: 2.5, 3, 3.5
y: 2,1, 0.66

c)

x=-2

y=3

x: -3,-4
y: 8, 5.5

x:-1, 0
y: -2, 5

HOMEWORK: Exercise 19, Questions 1
Rational Equations Worksheet

P.s if you complete all that... work on your principia project :) Oh and Mr.P please dont forget to post the worksheets and assignments you guys do while I am on my trip, Thanks! :)

K bye!
- Charlene
